Quick fix #2

This page has hierarchy - Parent page: Diecast Restoration

Not everybody wants to take their model apart to re-paint them and sometimes it’s just the detail that can let the model down.

This Matchbox pickup is slightly playworn but what really spoils it is the worn chrome on the front grill and light surrounds.

If like me, painting detail is either hard to see or you don’t have a steady hand, there is an answer, silver paint pens, I keep two, ‘fine’ and ‘extra fine’ I use the extra fine the most and leaves a great finish without a lot of work.

I use these on a lot of the detailing I do on restorations too.

A little touch up and the pickup is transformed.

You can get them in most craft or art shops, but if you have trouble let me know as I keep a stock of extra fine and can sell them to you direct.
