medieval siege machines

A couple of the siege machines I have were made by Lone Star and are shown below.

These diecast machines were part of a set or available as separate item and described as follows in the book ‘The Bumper Book of Lone Star Diecast models and toys’

Working models of a middle age giant crossbow, sling and battering ram, these authentic models are diecast with polythene wheels.

I have the full set, the book above shows these to of been released in 1957

Lone star made a siege machine crew but very hard to find, recently 4 out of 6 figures came up on Ebay, so I bought them along with another siege machine.

The following siege machine is also diecast but with diecast wheels, the maker is not marked but does have Made in England stamped to one inner side, it comes on good authority from a Lone Star collector that this is a Crescent casting.

These last two are just cheap plastic toys I picked up but are quite effective and with a little work and maybe a re-paint will look good with the knights in combat.

A much larger machine from ELC, 1:20 scale
